Lanesborough Select Board Moves EMS Lease Talks Into Executive Session, Amends Tow Policy

LANESBOROUGH — July 14, 2025 — Lanesborough Select Board advances EMS lease negotiations and overhauls tow policy at packed July 14 session. The board unanimously accepted a recommendation from its ambulance building RFP advisory committee to enter lease negotiations with Lanesborough Plaza, LLC — one of two bidders alongside Lakefront Condominium Complex, LLC — with talks set for executive session at the July 28 meeting. The board also amended its towing policy in four votes, cutting the required response time from 20 minutes to 15 minutes, extending record retention from six months to two years, allowing the first company on rotation to handle multiple vehicles at once, and transferring authority to add or remove tow companies from the Select Board to the police chief. EMT Director Jen Weber reported two full-time ambulance staff resigned the same day, citing the inability to match overtime hours at private agencies, and the board unanimously appointed part-time EMT Jack Markowitz as a partial replacement. The board voted 2-1, with member Michael Murphy dissenting, to appoint newcomer Tessa DeLago to the Board of Assessors over experienced applicant Mark Seegers.
