Finance Panel Seeks Joint Meeting On Tax Rate
Finance Committee · Meeting of October 5, 2026
Lanesborough Finance Committee seeks joint session with Select Board on the tax rate before it's set. Chair Lyndon Moore will ask Select Board contact Deb about folding the discussion into an existing meeting, after member Kristen Toole warned separate briefings risk miscommunication: "The finance committee endorsed a single tax rate when we didn't," she said of past confusion. The panel also voted unanimously to name Toole liaison to the Open Space and Recreation Plan Implementation Committee, which is pursuing Commonwealth park and land grants.
Members flagged the town's sewer use fund running $17,000 over its $60,000 budget just three months into the fiscal year, plus unexplained reimbursement line items of $15,069.15 and $37,000. Separately, a Baker Hill Road District update noted a formal state grant request this week for sewer and water line extensions to the mall property.
